James R. Brown

November 10, 1933 - April 19, 2020

James Raymond Brown was born November 10,1933 to Anna Howard Brown and James Charles Brown, in Nyack New York, where he grew up. James, the eldest of 4, enjoyed his childhood going to the 10 cent movies and playing games with his friends. At the young age of 10 he lost his father, a Navy seaman during WW2. Too young to travel and attend the services for his father, in Philadelphia, he felt he never was able to say a proper goodbye. His Grandfather Delaware Howard, stepped in to help raise him and his siblings. As he grew, he found his love of sports and excelled. Football, basketball, and his all time love softball. Graduating from Nyack High School with the class of 1952 James went on to work. At the age of 20 he met his now wife, Beatrice (Perry)Brown, they married In 1956. Still playing softball, Jim, as he rather be referred to, played in a minor league that traveled through many southern states and the northeast. In 1962 they had their first child, James Raymond Jr. Then in 1966 they had a daughter Deena (Brown) Williams. They raised their children in Hillburn, New York, where they resided together until his death. Jim, leaves behind his lovely wife Bea of 64 years, his son Jimmy, his daughter Deena preceded by (Eric Williams) their 2 daughters Cheridan and Skylar and his grandson Dallas Williams, and his father Jodie Williams He also leaves behind his youngest sister, Carolyn (Brown) Burgette preceded by (Fletcher Burgette) also preceded by his sister Phyllis Brown James, her husband John James, As well as his younger brother Fredrick Brown. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, which he loved and simply adored, dozens of friends and acquaintances
