Charles Edward Loughner
August 31, 1946 - May 19, 2020
Charles Edward Loughner, Sr., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown, NY after a hard fought 3 week battle with the Covid-19 virus. Known by most as Chuck, he had a big personality and an even bigger heart. He was a hardworking man who loved his family immensely and sacrificed a lot for them. Chuck was a USMC Veteran who served his country in the Viet Nam War. He received the following awards/medals; Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal w/2*; Vietnamese Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal with device (1960-), Rifle Marksman Medal. He had a great love for the Marine Corp. and was very proud that he had earned the title of United States Marine. He continued his life of service volunteering for the Turtle Creek Police Dept. before moving to New Jersey and working for the Ridgewood Police Dept. and finally retiring as a 911 dispatcher for the Northwest Bergen Central Dispatch in Ridgewwod, NJ. He is predeceased by his parents Robert and Sarah Loughner, his sister Bonnie Loughner and Grandson Matthew Loughner. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 52 years, Patricia Loughner and their children, Charles Loughner, Jr., Lisa Eleazar (Jay Eleazar), Eileen Erickson (Walter Richie Erickson), his 5 grandchildren; Mikey Moran, Crystal Moran, Jake Eleazar, Paige Eleazar, and Brianna Erickson. He is also survived by his sister Louise Nastari (Sam Nastari) and many nephews and nieces. The family will celebrate services privately and will be planning a memorial service at a later date.
